Event Description

THIS SHOW IS NOW FULL AND NO LONGER ACCEPTING ENTRIES!

*Intro Dressage Levels specify which Dressage test in Special Instructions Section of Entry*

Central Kentucky Riding for Hope (CKRH) is a PATH, International Premier Accredited Center providing a wide variety of Equine Assisted Services (EAS). CKRH has been in operation for 41 years, starting in an unassuming tobacco barn on the property of the Kentucky Horse Park, providing therapeutic horsemanship lessons to four participants using borrowed horses. Since those humble beginnings, CKRH has grown and expanded their programming to include partnerships with Fayette County Public Schools, the Kentucky National Guard, Ampersand Sexual Violence Resource Center, Easter Seals Cardinal Hill, Eastern Kentucky University, University of Kentucky, and Asbury University. CKRH has programming offerings in all facets of EAS including equine assisted learning, equine assisted therapy and adaptive horsemanship. Through these programs and partnerships, CKRH has brought the healing power of the horse to thousands of individuals with disabilities.

The Paul Frazer Memorial Combined Test and Dressage Competition is dedicated to a former CKRH Board Member who worked to remove physical barriers facing children with special needs. Paul designed the first handicapable bus in the Fayette County Public Schools, and his design later served as a model for all handicapable buses in Kentucky. As director of maintenance for Fayette County schools, Paul oversaw the construction of ramps, installation of elevators and other structural remodeling to ensure access for every student.

This year you will be able to see first-hand the hard work that just a few of our clients have put in to their connection with horses. If you see a rider with a blue saddle pad, feel free to say hi and congratulate them on their accomplishments, many of them at their first horse show!

If you would like to help our new competitors, or any of our other outstanding programs at CKRH you can donate to our organization through our Venmo account @ckyrh, or if you are interested in offering your time, our volunteers are second to none, you can reach out to our Volunteer Coordinator, Betsy Owen at volunteers@ckrh.org.

Thank you for supporting Central Kentucky Riding for Hope with our Paul Frazer Memorial Combined Test and Dressage Show and good luck this show season!

Best,

CKRH Staff, Clients, Families & Volunteers
