Event Description

The Octoberfest Horse Trials, Combined Test and Dressage show will have Starter through Novice Mini Trial divisions, Starter through Intermediate Combined Test divisions and USDF and WDAA(western divisions) Dressage divisions. This fall event is very beneficial in the training process for green to advanced horses and riders. A trade fair will also be taking place on the grounds in conjunction with this event. This is geared as an entry level competition or a good place to move up - and a fun time for all!

Costume Contest! Judging will take place on Saturday and Sunday. All riders are eligible and you may wear a costume for dressage. Awards will be presented at the show office both days. Check show office for more information.
TEAMS! Put a team together at any level. You may make mini trial, combined test or dressage teams. Teams may be 3 or 4 riders. If 4 riders one will be a drop score. Your dressage team may be a combination of riders of different tests. Sign up at show office window when checking in at the show. $30 per team payable when you sign up at show office.

All dressage and stadium jumping take place on Saturday with all cross country on Sunday. Cross country schooling on Sunday following the completion of all competitor rides if scheduling and weather permits.

We are a TIP registered show so please include your horse's TIP number under special instructions.

If you have paid for Friday and/or Saturday night stabling you do not need to pay for Sunday day stabling. ALL ENTRIES MUST EITHER PAY FOR A STALL OR A NON-STABLES GROUND FEE.

Note: Percentage class-ride any test. You may ride any event or dressage test (including Western) and must list the test you want to ride in "Special Instructions" on your entry. High score wins. Classes will be divided as entries warrant.

#12 - Dressage: Choose Your Test - 2 $30.00

Note: Second ride MUST BE the same horse/rider combination. You may cross levels for your second ride if you want. For example one ride in Beginner Novice and your second ride in Novice. Percentage class-ride any test. List test you want to ride under "Special Instructions" on your entry. High score wins.

#13 - Dressage: Choose Your Test - 3 $30.00

Note: Third ride MUST BE the same horse rider combination. You may cross levels for your third ride. Percentage class-ride any test. Must list test riding under "Special Instructions" on your entry. High score wins. Classes will be divided as entries warrent.

#14 - Horse Trial: Non-compete horse $50.00

Note: Must also pay for either stall or grounds fee.

I hereby assume this risk and further do hereby release and hold harmless Champagne Run Farm, Inc. and its employees and representatives, the organizer(s), volunteers, judges, officials, sponsors, and any other show staff or affiliates from all liability for any accident, damage, injury, illness, or other harms that may befall any horses, riders, employees, attendants, spectators or any person or property of owners in connection with this show while on or off the premises.

Warning: Under Kentucky law, a farm animal activity sponsor, farm animal professional, or other person does not have the duty to eliminate all risks of injury of participation in farm animal activities. There are inherent risks of injury that you voluntarily accept if you participate in farm animal activities-KRS 247.4072. (Parent or legal guardian must sign if rider is under age 18)

BY SUBMITTING THIS ENTRY, I AGREE to be bound by all applicable rules, terms, and provisions for this event. I am signing and submitting this entry electronically, and I acknowledge that my electronic signature shall have the same validity, force, and effect as if I affixed my signature by my own hand.

Refund/Changes Policy :

Refunds: No refunds after closing date. Entry fee less $25 administrative fee refundable if withdrawal is received by secretary in writing (email or mail only) by 9:00 p.m. on Close Date. Competition cancellation: none.

Change Fee: $55 after closing date.

ALL changes, withdrawals MUST be emailed to the show secretary.

Entry Status :

Entry status can be checked online at Champagne Run's website, www.champagnerun.com. It is the rider's responsibility to check website entry list to make sure horse and rider are listed in correct divisions before Close Date. If secretary not notified until after Close Date, a $55 change fee will be applied. All correspondence concerning submitted entries should be sent by email to show secretary, Nancy Clinkinbeard, at nanclink56@gmail.com.

Schooling Instructions :

"Stadium Schooling Course". After stadium rides are finished in the starter ring competitors may ride an additional schooling round for $10. The fences will be set at a maximum height of 2'. Sign up with and pay the stadium ring steward. Non-compete horses may sign up as well for $25.

Cross country schooling on Sunday after the show, schedule/weather permitting. If it happens, all must signup in office on Sunday, sign a waiver, pay, and pickup pinny from show office before riding on course. Cost is $50 if not in show, $25 if entered in show.

Stabling Information :

STALL REQUESTS must be made with your entry. During entry process, please provide any stall requests in "SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS" for show secretary. Every effort will be made to accommodate. Please state on your stable entry form who you would like to be stabled next to.

Regular and tack stalls available Friday and Saturday night, $50 each - stalls needed for the day only are also $50; Sunday night rate is $60. MUST pay for either a stall, or a Grounds Fee of $50 (Grounds Fee good for both days of the show).

If you have paid for Friday and/or Saturday night stabling you do not need to pay for Sunday day stabling. ALL ENTRIES MUST EITHER PAY FOR A STALL OR A NON-STABLES GROUND FEE.

Stall change fee: $45 if made after Close Date.

Hay, Grain, Shavings Information :

Not provided by show. Must bring own, or call Devers at the Kentucky Horse Park at 859-459-9586. You MUST call WELL IN ADVANCE of show to arrange for hay and shavings.

Golf Cart Rental :

Bring your own, or Cunningham Golf Cart Rental at 859-233-7921.

Coggins Policy :

Negative Coggins required within 12 months. Must have current health certificate/Coggins on hand at show.

You can upload your Coggins with your horse, and submit it with your entry. If questions on how to do this, please contact Blue Horse Entries at coggins@bluehorseentries.com.

NOTE: MUST have with you when you enter The Kentucky Horse Park to present to state vet, or you will not be allowed to enter.

Attire Policy :

Jackets waived. Braiding not required. Must have certified helmet on at all times while mounted, and wear protective vest for cross country (competition and schooling).

Medical Arm Bands :

Must wear at all times for stadium or cross country.

Food and Drink :

Available on grounds.

The Kentucky Horse Park is north of Lexington: Exit 120 off I-75. Follow signs to Park. Enter at main gate & follow signs to stables 1-859-233-4303(show office).

Parking has changed. You must follow signs and park only in permitted areas.

Costume contest -- for juniors and adults! Contest judging will take place during the show. Ribbons for fun Halloween costumes!!!

All dogs must be on leash.

Medical on grounds. Farrier and vet on call.

The Kentucky Horse Park is now charging an additional $10 per horse footing fee, which is reflected/included in cost of entry. This fee is paid by the organizer directly to the Horse Park.

Riders Under 18

Great! We are glad you want to ride and we want to help with your entry.

Because it requires consent from an adult parent or guardian, your parent/guardian must create an account and submit the entry on your behalf. It's quick and easy--and you can even help them if you need to do that! Have a good ride!
