NYSWE Eastern NY Show #2

This show will be conducted and judged following the United States Rules for Working Equitation, 2026 Handbook, Revision 9, dated 1 January 2026. The rules can be found at the following site: https://usawe.org/rules. It is the competitor’s responsibility to read and understand the rules before the competition.
All competitors holding a membership with USAWE may compete.
Competitors interested in being eligible for lifetime medal awards and year-end awards must be USAWE members. Membership application: https://usawe.org/become-a-member/. Non-members may only compete as "Schooling Rides."
All competing horses must be recorded with USAWE before the show. A one-time fee of $30 per horse includes lifetime performance tracking. Horse recording form: https://usawe.org/competitors/record-your-horse/.
A single horse and rider team can show in only one level. A horse may be entered twice in a competition if ridden by two riders at different levels. Exception: Two youths can share the same horse if competing in Level 1. See Rulebook, Section 1.8.

Event Details
Policies
Riders must be correctly attired and horses properly presented, following the U.S. Rules for Working Equitation. Show Management may, at its discretion, bar any person or horse from entering the arena if not suitably presented.
Photocopy of a negative Coggins test, dated within 1 year, must accompany the entry form.
A 30-day certificate of veterinary inspection (CVI) is required for all horses arriving from outside New York. You must be able to produce these documents upon request and arrival.
No refunds will be issued after the closing date (May 15). Until the closing date, show management will issue refunds on entries minus the office fee at its discretion. A doctor’s or veterinarian’s note must be submitted for refund consideration.
The attached waiver/releases must be signed for your entry to be complete. A parent or guardian must sign for a youth competitor.
Logistics

Entrants must provide their own hay and feed/water buckets. Muck buckets and forks available on
site. Please strip all stalls upon check out. Shavings available for $10/bag.
Dry camping is available for $20 per night.
There is plenty of open parking for cars, trucks, and horse trailers.
Ride times will be emailed to entrants before the show and also posted at the Secretary's Office during the show.
There are 20 stalls and two paddocks with run-ins available. Please indicate if you would like to stable next to someone and we'll do our best to accommodate requests. Paddocks are available on a first request basis. They are $40/night/horse and can accommodate up to 4 horses.
There are no tack stalls, but there is a tack room available for use. You may also place tack along the wall across from your stall.
We are always in need of volunteers! Please contact the Show Manager if you can volunteer or have a friend or family member who can help.

Ribbons will be awarded thru sixth place for each level/division overall.
High Score Dressage, High Score EOH, High Score Speed, and High Score Youth.

Schooling in the indoor and outdoor arenas is available on Friday prior to show set-up. Obstacles will be available in the outdoor arena (not the show course!) Schooling slots in the outdoor are 1-hour and limited to 4 riders.
If you enter both shows (May 30 and 31st), only sign up for and pay for stalls for all the nights you will need on the May 30th show entry. You DO NOT need to sign up for stalls via both show entries.
You'll be able to arrive as early as Friday at 3 PM. Departure from the grounds is Sunday evening. Please contact the Show Secretary if you have special circumstances to discuss.
Helmets are required for all mounted activities.
No smoking near barns or animals.
No dogs allowed without prior permission.
Appropriate closed-toe footwear must be worn on the premises.
